Over many years, Tim Larritt has held a variety of senior accounting and commercial roles in the manufacturing, road transport and corporate services sectors.

Tim is Queensland based and is passionate about building capacity in the sector there, especially in tier 2 and 3 community housing organisations.

Demonstrating an understanding and passion for the community housing  sector, as well as a strong commitment to the sustainable provision of appropriate housing solutions to people in need. Tim is seeking to actively assist CHP’s to identify and manage improvement projects  to enhance financial sustainability, corporate governance and project management

 

Starting out as a finance officer with Elders Pastoral in 1984, Tim progressed through various administrative, clerical and customer support jobs within the chartered accounting, information technology and insurance premium funding industries, working up to the position of accountant with Aldersgate Finance Pty Ltd.

In November 1992, Tim successfully gained a position as a state-based financial accountant with Australia’s iconic Peters Ice Cream where he would continue to build his career over the next 9 years.

Soon after Peters' operations were purchased by Nestle Australia Limited in 1995, Tim was appointed project controller, providing procurement, accounting, reporting and contract management support to the $75m project to build a new manufacturing facility at Mulgrave in Melbourne's southeast.  This project was delivered between 1996 and 1998, on time and within budget.

During Tim's remaining time with Peters, his achievements included company-wide policy and procedure updates, the successful design and delivery of a GST training package to all managers and about 300 operational staff across Peters' 22 distribution sites nationally and the design and implementation of an operational audit program across those sites.

Tim had also worked as a contractor in various accounting, commercial and management roles, including Chief Financial Officer, for a diverse range of businesses including :

  • Deloitte Consulting

  • K&S Freighters

  • Dun & Bradstreet Australasia Pty Ltd

  • GB Group

Tim’s journey in housing started in 2010 joining Churches of Christ in Queensland, where his final position was that of Finance Manager at Churches of Christ Housing Services Limited (CoCHSL) until May 2020.  He is also a current Senior Professional member of the Australasian Housing Institute.

As a Tier 1 community housing provider under the National Regulatory Scheme for Community Housing (NRSCH), CoCHSL manages around 1400 properties and Tim’s tenure within the business totalled ten years.

Key achievements in the community housing sector include:

  • Project managed the multi-disciplinary team appointed to de-merge CofCQ’s housing business into a separate company limited by guarantee  (CoCHSL), involving the transfer of over $100m in community housing assets to the new entity.

  • Led the application and documentation process for CoCHSL’s successful application for Queensland’s first loan from the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation (NHFIC).

  • Co-managed the selection and implementation of housing-specific software for tenancy and property management including integration with existing systems.

  • Provided detailed input to CofCQ’s formal CHP response to DHPW’s Allowable Expenditure and Surplus policy.

  • Worked closely with several of CoCHSL's business partners, including National Affordable Housing Consortium, Lady Musgrave Trust and Umpi Korumba Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Housing, on joint projects and agreements.

  • Expert in Novation & Assignment Agreements with Queensland Dept of Housing & Public Works.
